Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 16, 2026
Rig is an AI assistant that answers roadside and repair requests for truck repair, tire, brake, electrical and tow shops. This policy explains what information Rig collects, why, who receives it, and the choices you have. Rig is run by [Company legal name, LLC] (“we”, “us”).
Two kinds of users
- Drivers and customers who message a shop through Rig (web chat or text message). The shop you contact decides how your request is handled. We process your information for that shop, to get your request to them, and under this policy.
- Shops that use the Rig workspace. We are responsible for shop account information.
What we collect
When you message a shop
- What you write in the chat or by text, and what Rig and the shop’s technicians write back.
- Details you give for the job: your name, phone number, company, truck or unit number, the problem, and where you are.
- Your precise location, only if you tap “share location”. Your browser asks first, and you can say no. We turn the coordinates into an address and use them to work out the technician’s drive time.
- Work orders, and your typed name when you sign one.
- If you text the shop: your phone number and the messages.
When a shop signs up
- The owner’s and team members’ names and work email addresses, and the shop’s details (name, phone, service area, time zone, dispatch address, Slack channel).
- Passwords are handled by our authentication provider. We never see or store them in readable form.
Automatically
- Cookies that keep your conversation and remember your cookie choice. See the Cookie policy.
- Technical data our servers record, like IP address, browser type and times of requests, for security and to fix problems.
How we use it
- To answer you, understand the problem, and pass your request, location and work order to the shop.
- To estimate drive times for the technician and for you.
- To notify the shop’s technicians (for example in the shop’s Slack) and let them reply to you.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix and improve it.
- To meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. We do not use the content of your conversations to train AI models.
Rig is an AI
Replies from Rig are written by an AI system, not a person, until a technician joins the conversation. The AI can make mistakes. Prices and arrival times are confirmed by the shop.
Who receives it
- The shop you contact and its technicians: everything you share in the conversation, your location and your work orders. The shop’s own use of your information is covered by the shop’s policies.
- Service providers that run parts of Rig for us, only for that purpose: Anthropic (AI replies), Google Maps Platform (drive times), OpenStreetMap Nominatim (turning coordinates into an address), Supabase (database and sign-in), Slack (technician notifications, in the shop’s workspace), Twilio (text messages), and our hosting providers.
- Legal reasons: when the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety, our rights, or the security of the service.
- A business transfer: if [Company legal name, LLC] is merged or sold, under this policy’s protections.
Text messages
If you text a shop through Rig, we use your number only to handle that request. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop messages, or HELP for help. We do not share mobile numbers or text-message consent with anyone for marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep conversations and work orders while the shop uses Rig, because they are part of the shop’s service records, and for as long as the law requires afterwards. We delete or anonymize them when they are no longer needed. Server logs are kept for a short time for security.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and providers with strong security practices. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including Texas, California and other U.S. states), you can ask to see, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of its sale or use for targeted advertising (we do neither). Email privacy@iamrig.com. We will verify your request, answer within 45 days, and not treat you differently for asking. If we say no, you can appeal by replying to our answer. If your request is about a shop’s records, we may pass it to that shop, since it controls them.
Children
Rig is for adults and businesses. It is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think we have, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. If the change is important, we will tell shops before it takes effect and show a notice in the chat.
